12. So that's awesome! You can tell she loves the Book of Mormon. We
had a lesson with her at the temple with a member who actually went to
viewmont, named Hannah. We were thinking and praying a lot about what
to teach her when it hit us.... the gift of the Holy Ghost. Like, the
whole deal. So we had a lesson in the waiting room and Lauren said she
loves the temple.(picture included) We testified and taught and
basically told her she doesn't have the gift of the Holy Ghost, and
she like, completely agreed. As we were asking her some guided self
discovery questions she said that she thinks it would bring a lot of
added peace and comfort. She is still a little hesitant towards
baptism, but man it's coming along. She is so great and always looking
to do what's right, she just needs to act on those answer :)
times, plus church again, plus he came to a restoration movie night
last night. During one of our lessons through the week he said he's
been thinking about being baptized and he just feels a little bit bad
because he was baptized in his Chinese Christian church, and he said
it's like getting married again behind your wife's back hahaha.
Anyway, he always talks about how peaceful he feels at the church
though, and how much he has learned. So here is the miracle. We are
watching the new restoration movie and it was really good and the
spirit was really strong but there are some parts where I was kind of
thinking "does J understand this? This part might really weird him out
or confuse him" and things like that but at the same time the spirit
was just really strong so I wasnt worried about it. At the end he told
us he started getting emotional half way through and that it was the
most inspiring thing he has ever watched. He then said "wow. Amen.
Thank you for sharing this. I got half of my answer from watching this
movie, and I learned how to find my other half" "where?" We asked.
Then he lifted up his Book of Mormon and he said "from the book. The
other half of my answer is in the book." And I almost started crying
and then I started testifying of Joseph smith and the restoration and
actually did start crying because sometimes I forget how much effort,
heartache, and miracles went into the divine book that we get to have
conveniently sitting on our table or right at our finger tips whenever
we need it. If we are taking it for granted we have some serious
repenting to do!
sad about it. He's so ever loaded with school and says he wants to
come back to church in a month, and we've had a really hard time
setting something up where we can talk with him about it. Keep him in
your prayers, I would really love to see him get baptized before I go!
and the church is true!!
