This week has been pretty good! Let me tell you about the way cool experiences we have had with J and Lauren
So we had 2 great lessons with Lauren this week. The first, we were originally going to talk about follow the prophet because it's one of the last things she needs to be taught but last minute we felt impressed to share D&C 20:37 with her. When we went to the lesson we asked how she has been feeling about baptism and she said she has been thinking about it a lot and she is worried she doesn't know enough. She made an analogy that her church refers to as "cheap grace" like when she tells people how wonderful Christ is and all that he is done for us, but realizes after that they don't really understand what that means or what they need to do about it, and she just has these fears that because she doesn't know everything and hasn't read the entire Book of Mormon she is only getting surface level, or cheap Mormon grace haha. So we were so excited to share D&C 20:37 with her. It was so cool!! We talked about what it means to humble ourselves, to truly repent of our sins, and to have a broken heart and contrite spirit. It was amazing to see the spirit kind of resolve her concern as she realized that she has already met the requirements, the only thing is a desire to be baptized, which is definitely growing! We committed her to pray about a specific baptism date. We were worried that she would find a specific time to be baptized because sometime she struggles with those specific prayers so we prayed throughout the week that it would work out. I also really hope she gets baptized before I leave, but I haven't told her I am leaving because I don't want that toWe brought a recent convert named Marcus to the lesson who was a 3 week and baptized kinda guy and when he told her that she said "I envy you" because she has been investigating for a few months now. I envy you?? What??? She's so perfect!!
We also had a cool lesson with J. He has been having a lot of negative feedback from his Chinese church about the Book of Mormon, but he is very open with us about it. Ok, I'm so sorry, I really wanted to tell you about his but I will have to next week. We have 2 different celebrations today... I promise I will tell you!
