devotional! It was supposed to be broadcast at our church but I guess
it wasn't because everyone watches it at home so us and the other two
sets of missionaries just pulled out a tv, AirPlayed it to our iPads
and watched it in the relief society room which was pretty.. Great.
But we missed the first 15 min or so for set up. Anyone else catch
Steve Martin? ;) yes crystals baptism was absolutely awesome! Her mom
came to the baptism but I think the rest of her family is very...
Unsupportive about it :( but the ward has been awesome at taking her
in and she is SO strong in her testimony! And yeah, I'm a sister
training leader. Good times. They said they were sending letters out
about it so I figured I'd let ya figure it out ;) but it's great! I'm
actually extremely underqualified and wanted to throw up when they
announced it in transfer meeting but the Lord knows exactly what we
need to grow best! It's really to help me.
me (not that I was good at my journal this week) but I'm gonna just
have to try to remember some things... Well we had a super good lesson
with an investigator we met maybe two weeks ago named Daniel. He's
super nice and we've had a few lessons with him and he came to church
yesterday! Luckily, the testimonies were very good and very Christ
centered. You never know with those fast Sunday's and the west side of
Columbus ;) we also have an investigator named Molly who is great! She
has been reading the Book of Mormon, has a ride set up to come to
church next week, and has a baptismal date of January 9th! We also had
a really good lesson with a lady named Christina who is praying about
baptism and planning on church next week. We had a lady named Bethany
working towards January 2nd to be baptized but basically dropped us
until the holidays are over :/ but for he most part things are going
really great! A sister once told me "when you get out of Powell your
going to think 'wow, missionary work is really easy!'," needless to
say she hit that one pretty spot on (but I loved Powell to death and
am so grateful for it!)
miracles come in the last hour of a 24hr fast, so we planned tracting
in for our last hour. We knocked on some doors, met some weird college
kids, didn't have very much success, and our hour was coming to an
end. As we were heading back to the car there was this girl outside
and we were like oh let's go talk to her. So then she like looked at
us and look away and we were on the other side of the street like "oh
man, she saw us she's so creeped out, this is weird" and sister farmer
was like "do we go creep her out anyway?" And I was like "eh, we creep
everyone out why not?" So we talked to her and she was SO excited to
talk to us, and when we set up a time to come back she asked if she
could bring her friends! It really was a miracle :)
