May 16, 2016

Hey kidooos,

Ok so this week has been really really good and cool and awesome and great.

Let me try to remember some cool things

I'll tell you about Angie Boyd (throw her to the top of your prayer list ok?)
So sister Pollmann and I have been a litTle bit frustrated lately as
to why baptisms aren't happening. We have so many people preparing
that just hit crazy major road blocks, we feel like we are doing
everything we can, and we lost the 5 people we had on date for baptism
in May. So we decided we need to trust in God more and show our faith.
We literally had no one that could really be baptized unless it was
someone who just came to church 3 weeks in a row, learned the lessons
really fast, and got baptized. So we had a fast for a May baptism, and
Angie Boyd, a new investigators, comes to all 3 hours of church, and
absolutely LOVED it! Her husband has many health concerns but is
supportive, and she has been praying and feels very peaceful about
baptism so we put her on date for May 28th! Well she has to come to
church every week for it to work and yesterday she texts us and says
she won't be able to make it because her husband was getting a call
about his cousin who was dying and she needed to be there for him. So
we meet her at the laundromat to talk to her and she is STUDYING out
of the gospel principles book, taking notes, and looking up all the
references on her gospel library app. We talk to her about the
importance of the sacrament and church and she knew she needed to
come, we didn't even have to convince her. Then she brings her 2 kids.
And we have a lesson scheduled with her almost every day so she can be
prepared. She is so ready it's insane!!  Prayers Por favor :)

Well Ryan got a meeting with president Daines!! It was super great. If
he lives the word of wisdom and law of chastity for 4-6 months he will
send in a personal recommendation to the prophet for him to be
baptized! That's means I might not even have to fly back out for his
baptism!!! So that's really good news.

We had another lesson with the schofields. Justin was in a pretty
snappy mood but it was kinda cool because well Maureen's biggest
concern still right now is polygamy and all. And Justin starts
freaking out at Maureen and this is basically what he said (mind you
this is a guy who has never had a testimony in his life) "Maureen you
need to just pray about it. I had an issue with Joseph smith and I was
talking with my mom about it and she said that I need to pray and get an
answer and guess what, I DID. God told me that Joseph smith is a
prophet you need to just get over you doubts and ask him" it was
crazy! If it weren't so contentious it would've been flawless but it
was so cool for his wife and for Justin Jr to hear his testimony!
Maureen was the only one who had a chance of making it to church this
week and she texted us saying she couldn't make it she just had too
much to do so we said " read alma 1:26 and say a prayer and see what
God wants you to do" and she is seriously like "I KNEW YOU WERE GOING
TO SEND THAT. I read it the other day and it's been stuck in my mind
all day long!" Needless to say she didn't make it church but God was
working on her because he loves her and she said she feels really bad
for not coming hahah so hopefully next week!

We also had this really adorable lady named Pam at church. She's older
and has a walker and got to hang out with two really awesome really
old sisters all church long and they were the most adorable little
group of cute old churchers ever. I told sister Pollmann that they
were just he best 3 musketeers and she said " more like 3 blind mice"
haha but Pam felt really good at church! We gave her a tour of the
church afterward and showed her the baptismal font. We extended
baptism and she was very excited! June 25th here we come!

Ok but let me tell you a really cool experience and thing I learned.
I've gotten really bad and seeking promptings and acting on them
lately. I don't know what it is really, but I guess it all stems back
to pride somehow and I've just been pretty stubborn haha so I have
really been missing having the spirit in that way. So last week in my
morning prayer I did some major repenting  I basically told Heavenly
Father that I was going to act on all my promptings again. And looking
for them. And I told him that I knew it might take a few to gain my
futurist but that I was going to do it, and I asked him to give me a
prompting to lead me to someone who is prepared. Well later in the day
we pulled up to this street and I saw a house and immediately knew we
needed to act on it. Along the way I followed other promptings but it
was really all to get to this house. Anyway we followed it and knocked
and met a super awesome lady named Mariah and we set up a time to come
back and teach her family. I love the spirit, but more importantly I
love that God gives us the blessings of improvement and Christ gives
us the help to improve the SECOND we decide to do it. I PROMISE Heavy black heart

Love you all, enjoy this way lame picture by some famous trees
